The Alliance Bank Junior Board of Directors had the opportunity to visit BraunAbility in Winamac, during the month of April.
During our visit, we were given a presentation about the company and had the chance to ask questions. We also had a quick tour of the facility, which allowed us to see the process. BraunAbility is a manufacturer of vehicles equipped to assist individuals with disabilities. We were able to watch a video from the founder of BraunAbility, Ralph Braun.
A highlight of the visit was when some of the Junior Board members had the chance to test out a welding simulator. It was a hands-on experience that gave us a deeper appreciation for the skills required in manufacturing and production. The simulator allowed us to try welding, providing insight into the precision involved in building the products that BraunAbility is known for.
Thank you to BraunAbility employees Shawn Scott, Rebecca Kroft, Kasey Zimpfer, LeeAnn Rudd, and Lee Nava for hosting the Junior Board.
The Alliance Bank Junior Board of Directors is comprised of Juniors and Seniors from North White, Twin Lakes, West Central and Winamac High Schools. The students typically apply at the end of their sophomore year for a two-year term on the Board. The students have monthly meetings throughout the school year on location at a variety of local businesses and non-profits. Students learn about the organization and career opportunities in their community. Junior Board members also volunteer together throughout the year at various community events and non-profits.
