Each year on Presidents’ Day, Alliance Bank employees from their seven offices convene to learn, celebrate, and grow together. The highlight of the day is the announcement of the Terry Stevens Spirit of Alliance Award. The award recipient is chosen from employee nominations.

On February 19th, Bank President Shane Pilarski began with quotes from those who nominated the winner. “She is always there to be a lending hand when needed and always there to support her team with Alliance Bank as a whole.” Shane continued, “As she has always said ‘there is no quitting in banking, only lessons learned.’ She puts her heart into the relationships with her clients and their needs & wants.”

There were tears and applause as Winamac Assistant Relationship Manager Jenny Tirey made her way up to accept the award. “Alliance Bank is better today because of Jenny Tirey’s eagerness to provide exceptional service and her care for helping others, all with a can-do attitude,” shared Pilarski.

The word ‘culture’ is not taken lightly at Alliance Bank. In 2012, former Bank President Terry Stevens announced the first Spirit of Alliance Award to recognize a team member who exemplifies service, reliability, and teamwork. When Terry passed away, it only seemed fitting to rename the award after him. He was a man who, himself, displayed mentorship, empathy, and servant leadership with confidence and humor.

“I am deeply humbled and honored to have received the Terry Stevens Spirit of Alliance Award,” expressed Jenny Tirey. “My growth is a direct result from the network of support I have received from my peers. I attribute my achievements to my outstanding teammates; we are all in this together.”
