Alliance Bank, a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBank Indianapolis), helped two local women win Elevate Small Business grants. All Aligned Chiropractic, owned by Madeline Barber, and the Law Office of Samantha Joslyn each received a $20,000 award. Both recipients are located in the Rensselaer community.

ALL ALIGNED CHIROPRACTIC

All Aligned Chiropractic is Rensselaer’s only chiropractic office; Owner Madeline Barber treats about 150 patients a week. She took over the long-standing office in the fall of 2022. With funds from the FHLBank Indianapolis’ Elevate Small Business grant, All Aligned Chiropractic plans to renovate their office space to serve more clients and add a new piece of equipment for advanced traction therapy.

Madeline Barber accepts the Elevate Grant from Alliance Bankers.“I am so grateful to have been awarded this grant! It is going to have a great impact on the growth of my business in the coming years”, expressed Madeline Barber. “With this grant, I plan to remodel areas of the office to allow for more patient treatment as well as purchasing new therapy equipment. I will be able to offer these different types of therapies that I am not able to provide because of the lack of space. These new therapies will benefit my current patients as well as future patients seeking these types of treatments.”

THE LAW OFFICE OF SAMANTHA M JOSLYN, P.C.

Samantha Joslyn was awarded a FHLBank Indianapolis’ Elevate Small Business grant to help upgrade office computers, increase staff, attend Lavender Law Conference, and renovate their building. Improved technology will enable Samantha and her employees to be more efficient and serve more clients. The investment in building repairs will ensure it’s long-term viability and free up dollars to be invested back into the business.

Samantha shared, “We are pleased for know how these funds are going to help improve our facilities and technology to serve more clients and being able to bring our part-time person to full time. However, we are really ecstatic about the opportunity to be able to attend a Law Conference in Washington DC would be otherwise cost-prohibitive. This conference we believe is going to greatly increase the support we can provide to the LGBTQ+ community. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us to provide quality representation to our community in a building that will be welcoming and secure, allowing us to serve all who come in our doors.”

Each year, Alliance Bank seeks eligible business partners to apply for the Elevate grant programs. Grant funding for businesses is a rare opportunity. Applicants do not have to be female,  but minority-group ownership (woman-, minority-, disabled-, veteran-owned) earns additional points in the scoring process.

“We were thrilled to sponsor Samantha and Madeline‘s applications for FHLBi’s Elevate grant and are grateful for FHLBi’s investment in small businesses,” shared Bank President/CEO Shane Pilarski. “We know that small businesses are essential to the vitality of our communities. Supporting their growth is a direct investment in the entire community. We look forward to seeing these two businesses thrive as a result of these grants.”

The FHLBank Indianapolis Elevate grant is open to all for-profit Indiana and Michigan businesses with annual revenue of less than $1 million. Annually, applications are evaluated based on feasibility and proposed impact on the local community. In total, this year FHLBank Indianapolis awarded $1,009,561 in Elevate grants to small businesses looking to take their success to the next level.
