Alliance Bank leaders, along with representatives from K4 Architecture and The Hamstra Group, gathered on October 21st for an official Groundbreaking Ceremony. The day signified the start of construction on the Bank’s new office, to be located at 201 S Howard Street in Oxford. The site is on the opposite corner of the historic Town Square, where the Bank has operated since the early 1900’s.

“Today’s groundbreaking marks more than just the start of construction—it’s a symbol of Alliance Bank’s continued investment in the future of Oxford,” shared Bank President Shane Pilarski. “By investing in a new building across the town square, we’re continuing to offer banking services in a more modern & convenient way, while preserving our roots.”

After evaluation of their historic buildings, Bank leaders decided in late 2024 to build a new, more efficient and accessible space. Alliance acquired the former grocery store building that had been vacant for years; the existing structure was demolished earlier this year.

Their existing buildings have been given to the community’s Main Street organization. Pilarski elaborated, “The donation of our existing building to Discover Oxford reflects our deep belief in the power of local partnerships and the importance of revitalizing our downtown. This next chapter positions us for long-term growth while ensuring our presence continues to support both economic development and community connection.”

Working alongside K4 Architecture, a Cincinnati-based firm with extensive financial institution experience, the Bank will build a single level 4,000+ square foot facility. The Hamstra Group was named the General Contractor on the project and site work has already begun. Construction is expected to last approximately 10 months with a projected open date of Fall 2026.

“For all my life the Bank has been the cornerstone of the business on the square,” shared Alliance Board President Jim Schoen. “I am grateful and excited that Alliance Bank will continue to maintain this role with the new building.”
